The International Air Transport Association (IATA) recently proposed new limits for carry-on bags following an increase in passengers bringing on carry-ons that follows airlines increasing fees for checked baggage. The proposal would set carry-on bag limits to 21.5 by 13.5 by 7.5 inches.
After many airlines protested the trade association’s proposal, the IATA put the rollout on hold, but passengers should prepare for the industry to officially change baggage sizes once the IATA and airlines reach an agreement.
