Jersey Shore May Ban Smoking on Beaches

New Jersey is one step closer to passing a bill that will ban smoking at all public parks and beaches, including all of the beaches along the Jersey Shore.

If passed, violators will be fined if caught smoking. The bill has strong support among New Jersey politicians, and if passed will mean families will not have to worry about secondhand smoke when visiting the beaches. Some shore towns already have banned smoking on their beaches, including Long Branch, N.J.
