Sesame Place to Open Second Theme Park

Sesame Place, located in Langorne, Pennsylvania (about an hour outside of Philadelphia) has long been a popular destination for families with young children, especially those on the East Coast.

But families on the West Coast will soon have their own Sesame Place. The park is partnering with SeaWorld Entertainment to open a location in San Diego, California.

Sesame Place San Diego will feature rides, attractions and live character shows for young children and their families, and will open as a Certified Autism Center, emulating its sister on the East Coast. In 2018, Pennsylvania’s Sesame Place became the first theme park to operate as a Certified Autism Center.

Sesame Place San Diego is expected to open by the spring of 2021.

Currently, SeaWorld Entertainment provides Sesame Street-themed areas in its theme parks in Orlando, San Antonio, and San Diego, as well as the company’s Busch Gardens theme parks in Tampa, Florida, and Williamsburg, Virginia.
