When we were looking for a place to getaway and celebrate a special birthday, The Palms on Turks and Caicos was at the top of the list. I work for a corporate events agency and found these place when we were putting together a bid for a potential client. I fell in love with it the minute I saw the photos.
We were there for 4 nights in November 2019 and had a wonderful time. The grounds were beautiful with flowers everywhere. The room was beautifully decorated and fairly spacious for one of the smaller rooms with its own private patio off a sliding glad door. The sprawling pool was lovely. But my favorite was the beach with its turquoise water, the softest white sand and gentle waves. The water was comfortable and we could have stayed in it forever.
Happy hour at the beach bar ran from 5 to 6 each night with drinks which are normally $15 at half off. They were delicious, maybe a little too much so. The first night we had 3 drinks each (and we are not big drinkers) but that turned out to be too much for us. They do give a generous pour, so if you, like us, are not big drinkers you might ask them to ease off on the alcohol.
Everyone that worked at the hotel was so nice. The breakfast buffet which was included in our package was delicious. We booked through Costco and got a good price along with free transfers to and from the airport.
Great resort and relaxing time. The place is clean the coffee could be better. We went over the summer and had a great time. We didn't realize there was an adults only section so the kids were not happy about that since they had to stay in a smaller section and they are teens so it was a bit too small.
The best service we had while there and from any restaurant I have ever been to was with Oats. He was amazing with his fun personality that the kids loved and really helped customize the meal for the kids. When he saw the kids the next day and one of my sons had a really bad bug bite he helped us with that and gave us some natural remedies. Make sure you get to know Oats while you are there we wish we met him sooner on our trip. If we go back to Turks it would be for people like him.
