The Lodge has it's history and the legendary golf course, but as far as facilities and personal service Spanish Bay is head and shoulders above. It has been totally updated and renovated, and it is outstanding. The Lodge is "The Lodge", it is really looking "tired" and the personal service when checking in was "Here's your key". Not even a self service refrigerator for drinks and snacks. The Lodge will always be "The Lodge", but give the Spanish Bay Inn a chance, and you won't be disappointed, and will be greatly impressed.
We wanted to go to Pebble Beach for lunch. There are about 3 eating locations at the Lodge. We chose to eat inside at the Terrace Lounge. Great Choice. The food was great and the service excellent. Wouldn't think of anything else at Pebble Beach. We wanted something light so we chose to split the fish and chips. When the food arrived, our server (Erin) split the lunch up onto two plates without even asking. This was a nice touch. The fish was very good as were the garlic fries. They were not overpowering. The view was exceptional. Great experience and well worth the price. Highly recommended.
