It's a very pleasant hotel, with cosy rooms and actually very good location. No noise experienced. A fully equipped kitchen there in the room and we could not resist not to prepare our own rich breakfast with the help of one of many nearby grocery shops. Many good restaurants nearby - Menza as the probably best around, but still not very expensive one. And the NY Cafe of course... The garage is a bit narrow but we had no real problems.
Those who gave bad reviews argue that the hotel doesn't deserve 5*. It does not, I agree completely. But they should consider the price they paid, and thus not expect a top-hatted doorkeper to greet them.
This place doesnt deserve the bad press it has been getting. I nearly cancelled because of some of the reviews but so glad I didn't.
Yes it is a bit dated and possibly not 5 star but lots of great things about this hotel.
We stayed in room 202 which is a 2 bed suite. It was huge compared to some places we have stayed in and very clean. 2 great sized double rooms with lovely comfy beds. 2 toilets and lovely big lounge area. Perfect for a family with teens. We werent falling over each other for once. Room cleaned and beds made daily and towels changed. Lovely and warm at night too.
Pool area and sauna clean and a nice place to relax after lots of walking around Budapest. Nice hot sauna and jacuzzi.
TV in 3 rooms (although not much to watch).
Yes you pay city tax as you do most places now approx 9000 huf for 4.
Hotel organised our pickup to and from the airport which was a nice easy start and finish to the holiday.12500 huf (approx £32)
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Great base to explore from. We found lots of places to eat so didnt go to the restaurant.
We walked everywhere as we enjoy walking but plenty of public transport if you dont. Approx 30 minutes to town centre. Lots of great places to eat. We particularly loved BBzs and Cafe Vian.
Only down side to the hotel was noise from passers by shouting down the alleyway which echoed (as we always sleep with our window open) and yes there is a sex shop opposite but they are all over the city and yes it is down a side street but if you turn right out of the hotel you are right on the main strip that takes you eveywhere you need to go.
All in all we had a fabulous 4 night break in Budapest and were very happy with our stay here.
