This place is very worn out and in need of a refresh. Everything about the decor is old and dated and the wear and tear is showing. The bottom of the bathroom door is rotted. On top of that, the service is poor at best. No one I interacted with seemed too concerned about providing a good experience. Front desk was distracted, bartender ignored me sitting at a high top for quite a while. And the concierge lounge was unattended for over 20 minutes with many things needing to be refilled and restocked.
I made reservations for my husband and I as well as for friends; i.e. two separate rooms with different types of accommodations. We arrived later than our friends; checked in and used the key given to us to enter the room. Surprise!! It was already occupied...by our friends! Back to the front desk to get us a room; second try was an ADA room with 1 queen bed when we had originally requested a regular room with 2 beds. Back to the front desk and the idiot there finally got us to a type of room that we originally reserved.
There were maintenance issues that were resolved very quickly and by a maintenance staff that was super!
The quality of the room wasn't great, the sofa was terribly uncomfortable. It was clean but showing signs of wear.
Will not be going back to Charlotte anytime soon but would consider a different Marriott property if we were.
