Tired and in need of renovation. Staff was not very helpful. Room was noisy and was awakened at 5 am by trash trucks . Breakfast was poor and they ran out of coffee and orange juice at 7 :30 am!!!!Would not recommend

I am a Lifetime Titanium Elite member with Ambassador (100 nights stay per year with a spend of $20,000 yr). I've been staying long term at this property since July 2019.

The Good: The staff is top notch professionals and are the primary reason I've stayed.

The Bad: This property is franchised and not owned by Marriott. The franchise owner's have really done nothing to upkeep the property and the rooms. They did a renovation but did the minimum (coaches, televisions, window treatments) to appease Marriott Corporate. However, the appliances are old and out of date and most of the time do not work (e.g. electric coil stove top). The building structure has not been maintained and I experienced a severe roof leak that penetrated through the ceiling drywall after a heavy Baton Rouge rain storm. I've stayed at some really nice Marriott Residence Inn where the food is wonderful. The franchise owners of this Residence Inn set a budget on food. The same type of food appears weekly at this property in the evenings. Hummus or guacamole dip one night, other nights there is some sort of chicken dish, red beans and rice, or a salad. For the premium price paid to stay at this hotel, you would think the owners would provide better evening fare.
One last item is as a Lifetime Elite Marriott member (with over 2900 night stays) I would get an upgrade to better rooms or suites. The franchise owner mandate that their staff prioritize profit over keeping a an Elite guest happy
