We like Residence Inns becasuse of the extra room in the units. This hotel is in the old Gimbles Department Store, right on the river. So lots of charm. Not a cookie cutter hotel. The rooms are huge, really high ceilings. And well appointed. Have stayed here several times. Always try to get a room overlooking the river. Even though it was rainy while we were there, the view was still pretty. Enjoy the location because you can do a lot of walking, especially along the river walk, and shopping. The staff is so helpful, especially Cherita, at the front desk. She has such a bubbly personality. This is our hotel of choice in Milwaukee.
We stayed here for about a week due to a work assignment in the area. We always stay at the Residence Inn so we have a kitchenette. The staff at this hotel were above board, they were very helpful when quarried about outside services and went out of there way to say hello. The hotel was clean and the rooms are beautiful with fabulous high ceilings. There were several places to eat within walking distance. Breakfast was set up nicely and they did provide Gluten Free bagels. Overall the hotel was clean, the staff were great, the shower maintained water pressure and the thermostat maintained settings (Some Marriott's have installed thermostats that override your settings when it thinks the room is empty!!, so the temperature does not maintain your settings.). We will stay here again for our future assignments in the area.
