I didn't stay here but went to have lunch there and it was an absolute beautiful property. The bar and restaurant were great and the service was excellent. I had a few drinks and the grilled fish with plantains was superb. Walked around and looked at the property and it was beautiful.

Pros: Quiet, diving outfit was awesome and dives are close. It's sea divers and ask Amanda to get George as your dive master. We stayed in the Coconut Grove house and the house itself is excellent. However, there were enough cons to keep us from going back to this location.

Cons:
Sand Flies are terrible, you will be eaten or wear 100% deet 100% of the time. I love to go down with a coffee and float in the water to wake up in the AM. Due to the murky water, sea grass and sand flies, I went to the pool instead. It's remote, so only one restaurant and it's expensive for ok food. They bay is full of sea grass so the water is a bit murky (not what you travel to Roatan for). It's a beautiful location, but the next time we go we will stay up on a hill with an amazing view and infinity pool for part of the trip and then stay at West Bay for a portion where the water is amazing. Driving in Roatan is not a problem, so it's fine to stay a bit more remote.

Other things to consider:
Make sure you visit Kristi's overlook for Mexican food, it's a great place. It's east on the East end of the island. I know, when I go to the islands I want to eat seafood, lobster, shrimp, etc. After ordering Lobster at 3 places and it was terrible, I finally stopped. it's a shame to say the Tex/Mex at Kristi's was one of the best meals I had in Roatan.

You can pay $20 for a day pass at one of the resorts on West Bay. You can use the pool, bar, showers, towels and chairs. It's well worth the $20. West bay is expensive, so bring your $. It's worth it though for the convenience and the water. Treat yourself to a day or two.

If you are going this far, spend a few nights in Utila (take the Ferry or use Bay Island Charters to get there). We took the 15 Min flight. Snorkeling / Diving is amazing and food / drinks are cheap. Hit underwater for drinks and don't miss pizza night on Fridays.
