Amsterdam’s answer to Macy’s, de Bejinkorf is in the thick of things on the Dam Square. The top floor “Kitchen” offers a great compromise for grown-ups who crave good design and atmosphere, and kids who may want a wide variety, and quick service. The buffet-style cafeteria has stations of made-to-order steaks, hamburgers, fish, pasta, stir-fries, omletes, sandwiches, and salads, as well as beer and wine. The quality is good, and the portions generous. An early dinner here is best as the store closes at 7 p.m. on several nights, including weekends.
