Cottage was updated, very clean, did get bit by the no-see-ums though when we were outside. Stay in the area if you really want peace and quiet, but if you are looking for more of a tiki atmosphere go elsewhere, there was literally no places on the water to enjoy music with a view. Seemed most places/restaurants were inland overlooking a parking lot and very expensive. Wasnt expecting that, Seemed like this area was more tailored towards people that actually lived there. I get it.

The Shalimar was wonderful. Super clean and steps away from the beach. I stayed in the efficiency on the 2nd floor and had an awesome view of the ocean. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great location. Easy to rent an umbrella. They have complimentary use of beach chairs. The most seashells I’ve ever seen in my life. Even saw some dolphin and many birds. Cannot say enough good things about it here. Very comfortable beds. Definitely going to stay here when I return!
