Can’t recommend Silver City Mountain Resort highly enough.

It’s a hell of a drive to get there up a winding mountain road for about an hour (but hey I like that sort of thing). Once you’re there though it’s an instantly relaxing and secluded experience with a true sense of being in nature. We stayed in one of the more basic cabins with propane lighting and a log burner for warmth. That only added to the experience for us but I can understand why some might prefer a more high end stay. The beds were really comfortable and the toilets/showers were clean and well looked after.

Some reviewers have highlighted that the resort is far away from the main Sequoia attractions. This is true, as it will likely take a few hours drive to reach the Giant Forest/General Sherman. However this part of Sequoia has lots of amazing hikes and trails. We saw a lot of wildlife and actually both preferred the bits near Mineral King to the main attractions.

The staff were great and really friendly/helpful and the food was lovely. If we had our time again though we would have packed some more supplies to cook some of our own meals (there are no shops around for miles).

Booked these Cabins because we love nature, getting there thru its narrow roads was tricky but the magnificence of the views was worth it!
Our room was a nice and cozy Studio, waking up in the morning with a beautiful Sequoia Tree view and with french pressed coffee ,was a real treat!
Loved the place and the food at the Restaurant, the staff was very friendly and accommodative to all our needs, prone to give information and facilitate your needs. ( thanks again for the car charging)
For sure we’ll be back ... for a longer time!
