Comfortable, clean, convenient

by whygoback

We really enjoyed our three weeks stay. We enjoyed a poolside Jr. Suite, which had a basic kitchen set up that we ended up using far more than planned.

The beds are comfy, the linens first class,
The pool deck was wonderfully relaxed, the water cool on a hot afternoon.

I would have rated the hotel excellent, which it is Sunday afternoon till Friday afternoon, however weekends are busy, which is ok too, I'm happy to see families enjoy a weekend.

However Friday nights and some Saturdays can be extremely loud. Sadly the hotel's restaurant/ bar seems to attract some big crowds, suddenly dozens of super loud patrons descend on it at 11 pm and make a hell of a noise till 2:15 a.m.

I think if a hotel wanted happy guests they Need to discourage late night events like this. It's a clash of interests and they don't win trying to entertain two divergent markets.

I would return, and I do recommend, but know what to expect on the weekend.

Clean and Friendly

We hadn't stayed at Solamar for a few years, and found they had made a few upgrades. Door security was one, a wireless key. They had Wi-Fi on each floor, sometimes the signal was not that great, but if necessary you could go to the Lobby. We stayed this time as they have an elevator.......as my husband has difficulty with stairs.....Still, friendly staff, some have been there for years.....rooms cleaned thoroughly everyday..... Tried the new restaurant, as we didn't feel like leaving the pool area, portions ok, and enough filling in the club sandwich, fries were fresh and crispy outside.....we would recommend it, one drawback, hot water, they turn the boilers off during the day, but if you call to the desk, you'll get hot water in about 15 minutes......if the Hotel is full, hard to get water in the morning....boilers only on from 6/9 am......we Canadians are spoiled in this regard.
