Stayed here for one night as a layover on the way to Austin. I chose it because I wanted somewhere central due to the limited time available. This hotel fitted the bill, being right in the middle of the stockyards area.

Our room overlooked the main street but it wasn't noisy - though this being midweek the whole area was pretty dead. I imagine it is a different story at the weekend. Really enjoyed the wild west touches in the room, including rocking chair, horseshoes, spurs and shotgun. Huge and very comfortable bed. Old-fashioned bathroom - again, it's all about character here so if you are bothered by things like old-ish grouting this place is perhaps not the one for you.

The H3 Ranch restaurant and Booger Red's saloon also belong to the hotel.
From reading the website and reviews I got the impression that breakfast is only served at weekends, but Booger Red's was very much open on a Wednesday morning though the menu is small. I did have a very delicious plate of pancakes with bacon and syrup. Fun decor at the bar with saddle bar stools and an enormous horse's bottom.

Had a very nice and relaxing time at the hotel.

Juste returned from 2 week trip from UK visiting Texas. Spent 3 nights at the Stockyards Hotel. It is certainly the place to stay when visiting the Stockyards. Very authentic feel - many people not staying at the hotel would pop in to hang out at the bar and restaurant for the atmosphere. There were saddles to sit on at the bar to give you an idea of the sort of place it is.
Yes the rooms had an oldy worldy feel but that is the charm. Everything in the room worked well and we had no issues. A safe in the room would have been nice but you have your own box behind reception if you want one.
The valet parking staff were efficient and polite to us and we had no issues whatsoever.
We ate in the hotel restaurant each day and had breakfast there also. Food and service excellent. We thought our stay here was the highlight of our trip. The rodeo held on Friday and Saturday nights just down the rode is a must see. It is not an artificial thing but a professional competition with prize money for the cowboys. A real eye opener for us brits.
Would definitely recommend a stay at Stockyards Hotel when visiting the town.
