Sunriver is a planned private and resort community on 3,300 acres, 15 miles south of Bend. Resort amenities abound and include 40 miles of pathways for pedestrians and bicycles, three pools, two parks, 26 tennis courts, golf courses, an observatory, bike rentals and daily shuttles to Mt. Bachelor for skiing. The resort also offers lots of family activities, such as a summer concert series, holiday activities with bonfire S’mores, a tree lighting, sleigh rides, a marina area with boat rentals and classes, ropes course and horseback riding. Families will find a variety of lodging options. The Lodge Village offers guestrooms with fireplaces and one king or two doubles, as well as larger suites with an open floor plan, loft area, and kitchenette that can accommodate six. The River Lodges offer views and several suite options similar to the Lodge Village suites. Or opt for a two/three-bedroom Caldera Springs Cabins or a vacation rental. Families will find a number of dining options for all palates.

Loved it for our getaway weekend! Even though most of the amenities were close for the season, the staff was really helpful in directing us to alternatives in the Village. The only weird detail was finding an used robe in our bathroom when we first checked in into our room, totally got missed during the cleaning. However, they were really responsive when we reported it and brough new robes for us.
Eat elsewhere but stay at Sunriver. Visit Bend and Sisters. Go to the museum. The roundabouts are fun. Town is designed to serve vacationers. Food in town was exceptional. Dress warm because the mornings are teeth chattering!
