Located just one block from the beach on Montego Bay’s popular “Hip Strip,” the family-run Toby’s resort offers well-equipped accommodations and lots of convenient and fun amenities. Every room has a furnished patio or balcony, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, air conditioning, a mini-refrigerator and a coffeemaker. Guests can choose rooms with either one queen size bed or two twin beds. Connecting rooms, cribs and rollaway beds are all available upon request.

The resort has two Olympic-size swimming pools with waterfall features, an arcade room, a restaurant serving Jamaican cuisine, a bar and lounge area and a fitness center. Babysitting, laundry service, room service and airport transfers are all available. There are a number of activities and entertainment options within close walking distance of the resort, including snorkeling, golfing, fishing, boating, windsurfing and shopping, as well as several different beaches. Parking and Wi-Fi are offered free of charge.

Great Place to Stay

The hotel in general is very well maintained. The rooms are clean and the quality of sleep was great. The cleaning lady did our laundry for us ($15) with same day service. Although the rooms are not cleaned daily, you can ask for fresh towels and they will be provided. Really friendly staff.

The main pool has a bar which is open 0800 - 2300, daily. Michael, the barman, is a likeable and chatty guy. He has some great stories.There is plenty of sunning chairs and a coupla tables and chairs for hanging out.

The hotel is in a terrific location. Five minutes from the airport, several cambios and shopping near-buy, lottsa bars and restaurants and a great beach are close.

There's always a taxi on premises for a $15 ride to the airport.

Next time I go to Montego Bay, Toby's will be my first stop.

Great location and clean resort

My husband and I just returned from our anniversary trip. The location is very close to the airport and walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants. Most of the staff was friendly. I would say there were a few of the ladies that didn't seem quite friendly in the restaurants. We asked if they did anything special for couples celebrating their anniversary. The gifted us with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, upgraded our room and gave us a bottle of sparkling wine. The ground were kept beautifully and our room was nice and clean. They don't have any major frills but they are clean and have 2 pools on the grounds.

They arranged a cab for us to be picked up from the airport. Considering how close the airport is the cab was kind of expensive. The cab driver was on stand by at the resort for any travel needs. The gym could use some updates. We were told this resort is one of, if not the oldest resort, when tourism began to flourish in MonBay. Overall everything was nice. I cannot however recommend their onsite restaurant. It was expensive for what you're given and it was not good. I ordered a veggie pasta for dinner and was highly disappointed. They do not honor the current exchange rate of $136JMB per $1USD. They use their own rate of $127JMD per $1USD. In fact, every place we went had a different rate. None of which was the $136JMD. We would still stay here again but plan to always eat out.
