Saint Ignace sits at the southern tip of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, the first town visitors reach after traveling over the fames Mackinac Bridge. It is also the gateway to the time capsule natural wonder of Mackinac Island at the intersection of two Great Lakes. A no frills hotel attached to a popular restaurant, the rooms here at the Village Inn will not have you posting on Instagram like others in the area but you will get free Wi-Fi and parking, rooms with two beds, easy access to the ferry to Mackinac Island and the boardwalk running through downtown Saint Ignace. There’s the restaurant right there for a bit at any time of day and with the money you’ll save by staying with your kids here, you can splurge on treats in town!

Pick one side and soup was one of them)and was charged 75 cents for that. When I questioned the server about the upcharge I was told it was for a bowl not a cup which I don’t even remember saying a bowl of soup I just said I would take soup as my side. I also wanted to add a salad which I knew was an upcharge of 2.00 as the menu stated. When I got the bill I was charged 5.00 for the salad which I brought to the attention of our server. He tried to explain to me why which made no sense and I asked him again why so much for adding the salad and he again told me something that didn’t make much sense. I was done trying to figure out my bill so I just paid it and left. It was still a good place to eat and I would
Go there again.
For the “Best” homemade soups, sandwiches and meals, the Villages is by far the best in town.

My wife had homemade chicken soup and I the best ever Cream of Squash, both were outstanding!
The Ruben sandwich is full of homemade corned beef stacked high, what a delight, and the pickles are homemade also.
