Came here to spend time with family. The hotel was full of kids for a convention they was running up and down the halls all night no supervision and staff didn't care. Playing on the elevator going up and dowm staff still not helping control the kids.
I was staying at the Westin for 6 nights because of the convenience, being across the street from the convention center. The rooms were clean, beds very comfortable, high thread count sheets, towels were high end, as well. Housekeeping was marvelous!
Our room was on the 5th floor, directly across from the ice machine that was broken for our entire stay. On the last day, our toilet malfunctioned. On the first day, in another room, my colleagues had nothing but hot water out of their sink taps. Luckily, the staff was able to move them to a different room. Another colleague said their toilet flushed with hot water all week, making the room a sauna.
When checking out, the desk tried to only charge us valet ($45/night!!) for a couple of nights, instead of 6. We were told not to worry. Our card would be charged the additional amount later. NOPE!!!! The in-house restaurant, Nourish, had good food, but slow service. $11 for a mixed drink is outrageous. Connor’s, next door at the Marriott had better EVERYTHING. Once we found it, we chose Connor’s over Nourish.
Westin is a higher end Marriott facility. In my experience, it’s only higher end by price.
