The Wyndham Candelero Beach Resort (formerly named the Wyndham Garden at Palmas del Mar) offers families 107 guest rooms and suites on the beach in Puerto Rico. Rooms include king or double beds with the options for a larger space with a living room or balcony. Most rooms comes with a flat-screen TV and coffeemaker. The resort has a pool for onsite fun, but also offers a complimentary shuttle service to local shops and cultural attractions, such as the Puerto Rico Museum of Contemporary Art. There are three onsite dining options at the resort. David’s Cookies is great for a simple and sweet breakfast, Ginger’s Pool Bar is great for an afternoon snack or drink, and Amalgama offers breakfast and dinner with a variety of flavors sure to please any palate. Room service is also available.

I went to this hotel back in last January 2019 to enjoy and have a pleasant time there. The first thing I encountered was a problem with my reservation and the receptionist bad attitude to solve the problem that made me get in my nerves a little. Finally this was solved and we started to enjoy the place. We bought at that time the all inclusive package which was at 500.00 dollars at that moment (now is a 100.00 dollars and a little more). The drinks and food of the all inclusive were excellent and the treatment good. The room needed a little maintenance though since were something very dangerous upon the ceiling , the air conditioning doors where loose and kept falling upon you head over and over putting us in a risk of an accident. They never came to fix it. We complained to the hotel manager about all inconveniences and since just was a weekend we spend there she gifted us with a one day stay within one year to choose. After we left everything was cordial and we were willing to come back. Last September 2019 we called there to include one additional day to the complementary stay we had been given and when we called guess what, a just one night at the hotel were so expensive that we decided to go to another hotel where the weekend stay not even was close to the cost of that night at the Candelero Resort. Truly experience this resort was very nice but the maintenance details and how the guest is treated has to be review to people consider come back.

The property and the grounds are stunningly beautiful and offer direct access to the beach and nearby golf course. We paid a little extra for a room with a balcony, but found that it only meant a room with sliding glass doors rather than an actual space to sit outside. We were also disappointed to find that the fitness center was closed for renovations and the laundry room was not yet operational.
We reserved a room for one night through a reputable 3rd party and when we checked in to the hotel, we were told that we'd have to pay an extra $10 for parking each night. We didn't have any other parking options since it is located in the middle of a large gated community, and we accepted the fee. However, we were surprised and frustrated to find a mysterious $40 fee on our bill when we checked out, in addition to the $10 parking fee noted on the bill. It wasn't explained on the bill so we called to ask what it was for. It was a mandatory resort fee and they explained that they were not required to disclose that to us ahead of time. They told us it was up to the company we reserved the room through to notify us of additional fees and that we should contact them. However, Wyndham's own website doesn't disclose that they charge this required resort fee, unless you go through several steps of clicking on fine print after making a reservation. I'm not sure what amenities this fee was supposed to pay for, other than the pool, since the property didn't offer anything else other than on site restaurants and our reservation only covered the cost of the room.
When we called the company we reserved the hotel through, they explained that the hotel did not disclose this fee to them and is not required to, so there was little they could do to help us. In the end, we got a small refund because several of the advertised amenities were not available at the time we stayed.
