Gettysburg is a destination filled with American history. The Wyndham embodies this Old World charm with its patriotic decor and presidential ambience. Everyone will feel like a royal guest as they enter the elegant lobby. A good first stop is the onsite Gateway Theater, which plays a 30-minute film that depicts the Battle of Gettysburg. Rooms are designed with a combination of period pieces and modern amenities. Families can opt for suites with more space or standard rooms. Kids can spend some quality time at the indoor pool or game room. Pets are welcome and kids stay free! Two restaurants await your family at the hotel — the 1863 Restaurant and Old Eagle Grill. Wyndham encourages guests to see all there is to see outside of the hotel. Gettysburg is teaming with family-friendly activities. I stayed here for two days while chaperoning an 8th grade class trip, so the best review statement I can give is that I would stay here on a visit with my husband - it was that nice. The hotel common areas are clean and well kept. The breakfast in the restaurant was good - nothing "special", but tasty none-the-less. Their oatmeal is fantastic! The people in the lobby and restaurant were very nice and accommodating. Even though this place hosts groups and conventions, it was never "noisy" or overwhelming. The rooms were clean, the bed very comfortable, and my shower was awesome. For convenience, here's a little "market" for snacks and a small gift shop in the lobby. In the same area, within sight and an easy walk through the parking lot is a movie theatre if you need some evening or rainy day entertainment for the family. The place isn't "fancy" or upscale, but it was still one of the nicer "regular" hotels I've stayed in. You can't beat the value.
Nice location and get nice hotel. Need better services like a coffee shop in lobby. There is a small shop but the line gets looking for coffee in the morning as the machine is single cups at a time. Nice rooms and location.
