No surprise, you need a 4WD vehicle to access this unique attraction. Shipwreck Beach is worth visiting more for adventurous exploration than for swimming, which actually isn’t advised because of unusually strong currents. The eight-mile-long beach is along an ill-tempered channel, which has, after all, been the demise of a number of boats over the years. One can still see portions of a WWII ship clinging to a reef offshore. Check out the ancient petroglyphs near the beach.
