A long-time favorite of vacationers to Myrtle Beach, The Carolina Opry Theater is well-known for its music and dance shows, as well as magic shows, a performance arts series, and even holiday shows. Every show is family-friendly; that being said, not all children will do well at every show.
For instance, the regular music and dance shows are three hours long with a brief 15-minute intermission. Even with its high-energy, constant change in variety, this can be quite taxing for younger children. Also, take care when choosing seats. The aisles are wider than a traditional theater, so getting up for a bathroom run is easier than expected. However, while seats closer to the stage do provide amazing views, they also are closer to the speakers, which means it’s much louder in front. For kids who don’t do well with loud noises, choose a seat in the back. The views are still quite good, especially with the oversized projection screens on each side of the stage, but the noise is more manageable.
