On the edge of the beautiful Frederiksberg Gardens (worthy of a visit of their own), Denmark’s national zoo is on par with any of the world’s finest, and is particularly known for its beautifully designed Elephant House by Norman Foster, which is considered one of the finest elephant facilities in the world. The kids will love the chance to see polar bears, tigers, crocodiles, butterflies, exotic birds and many more animals from around the planet. The Children’s Zoo here, considered the finest in Europe, has a petting zoo, where visitors can pet pygmy goats, rabbits and even get up close with snakes. Admission is 160 DKK ($29.50) for adults and 95 DKK ($17.50) for kids 3 to 11 years old.
