Hubbell Trading Post

Hubbell Trading Post

Highway 264, Ganado, 86505, AZ

The oldest continuously running trading post in the U.S., the Hubbell Trading Post is located within the Navajo Reservation in Arizona. Families driving through the Four Corners region between Canyon de Chelly and Petrified Forest National Parks will spot signs for the trading post and should make the stop. Highlights might include a Navajo creating a rug within the visitor center; if you’re lucky, you and your children might even be taught how to weave a rug.

Hubbell has a Junior Ranger program and teaches kids about the importance of a trading post. Kids are also guided through the grounds, which include the trading post, a barn, a blacksmith shop, a corral and more. You can learn about the Hubbell family and the trading post, and check out a shop, too, which offers rugs, jewelry, food items and other goods.

It’s open year-round, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
