The only “house” that does not require a reservation or additional tickets, Step House can be self-explored. Step House was built around 620 A.D. A paved loop trail, less than one mile in total and dropping about 100 feet, offers visitors a glimpse into one of Mesa Verde’s cliff dwellings.
