The four-star Copenhagen Admiral Hotel is a sight for traveling eyes. It’s gorgeous façade reigns supreme over its waterfront location, mere steps from picturesque Nyhavn, with its colorful buildings, outdoor cafes and street musicians serenading the crowds. After taking in the historic city, guests will find comfort in the 200-year-old property, which was once a warehouse catering to the shipping industry outside of its doors. No two rooms are alike at the Admiral. From its stone and wood décor featuring vaulted and beamed ceilings to its borderline opulent dining area, the Admiral is just the type of place one wants to see after touring Copenhagen for the day. Step into the Admiral and you’ll see why this is a popular hotel for visitors — it’s stunning.

Room Information

Find the Best Price for Your Stay

The Copenhagen Admiral Hotel provides 366 rooms and suites, each facing the water. Windows and balcony doors open to the cobbled streets and marina below, while the interior of the rooms features rustic wooden beams to lend a homey feel to the simple, contemporary décor. Rooms are equipped with bathtubs, flat-screen TVs and complimentary Wi-Fi. The most standard rooms are Single, Twin and Double rooms, which don't work well for families, as they only accommodate one to two people. Instead, families will want to choose from the Family Rooms or Junior Suites.

Family Rooms and Junior Suites
These two-story rooms can sleep four in a special room featuring a separate sitting area on the main level and an upstairs bedroom. The bedroom houses an oversized double bed, while the sitting area provides a sleeper sofa to accommodate two more. The rooms feature a spiral staircase that may worry parents with young children, however.

Quality service

Very nice stay, together with kids. The hotel upgraded standard of the room free of charge to make our stay more comfortable - thank you!
Not that many leisure facilities in the building itself, but overall standard and room design just great.

Family Activities

The Admiral is a city hotel, centrally located within walking distance of many of Copenhagen's top sights. While the hotel does not offer any family activities, you will discover treasures like The Little Mermaid statue, Amalienborg and Nyhavn right outside its doors. Bike rentals are available to explore.

Family Dining

The hotel's hip restaurant is the Salt Bar, designed to replicate a Parisian brasserie. Featuring a Danish menu that combines traditional dishes with modern techniques, the restaurant swaps out its menu every three weeks. Guests can choose from three- to five-course dinner options, and dine in the Salt for lunch, noon to 4 p.m., and dinner, 5 to 10 p.m.

A breakfast buffet is provided in Salt on a daily basis. Children under 3 eat free while children 3 to 12 dine eat at half price. Breakfast is offered from 6:30 a.m. every morning, ending on weekdays at 10 a.m., and weekends at 10:30 a.m. Some booking packages may include the breakfast buffet with the price, so be on the lookout.

Planning & Tips

All About the Extras
Wi-Fi is found in rooms and throughout the hotel and is free of charge to all guests of the hotel.

The Art of Smart Timing
Copenhagen is located in Scandinavia, and although it is one the furthest south, its location means the area is often a bit chilly, even in summer months. The average highs in the peak of summer are only in the low 60s, and with 13-hour days, make summer a popular time to spend in the city. For the best deals, traveling during the winter months will save you money, with more nighttime hours and temps near freezing. Its waterfront location, however, keeps heavy snows at bay.

Getting There
The hotel is located right along a waterway, just 20 minutes via taxi from the airport.

Getting Around
Bicycle rentals are available through the hotel. Copenhagen is a cyclist-friendly city, with more bikes than cars. Families will find bike paths along all major roads and streets, as well as ample parks and green spaces to enjoy.

For Mom and Dad
The Salt Bar is a popular spot after dinner and during happy hour. While the kids get some sleep, mom and dad can enjoy a drink and meet fellow guests here.
