Layered up grandly and oozing caramel and nuts, this café’s luscious chocolate turtle cake made it a famous Grand Avenue destination, but there’s much more to draw families here. The menu appeals to a grown-up’s adventurous palate with green olive poblano spread, Swedish potato sausage soup, and vegetarian grain salads while also having basic sandwiches in its gourmet cafeteria. It also serves a number of pizzas (including a basic one for kids) in its pizza and wine bar. Don’t leave without something to go from its famed bakery.
