When Mystic Seaport recently renovated its onsite restaurant, it took an upscale turn, with a sophisticated decor and a creative farm-to-table menu with a heavy complement of native seafood — grilled Montauk swordfish with lemon verbena oil, divers scallops from next-door Stonington served over truffled risotto, and Mystic skate wings accompanied by shiitake mushrooms and polenta. Of course, being located at one of the region’s prime family-friendly attractions its kids menu is just as extensive — and healthy. For families seeking more casual fare, it also features a more laidback tavern room serving fried seafood, burgers, and lobster rolls.
