If you’re looking for a classic summer resort in Nova Scotia, White Point Beach Resort is it. While there are a few others dotted throughout the Canadian providence, none of them quite compare to this remote gem that fronts a beautiful stretch of sand. Pack your cameras — the sunset views will make your Snapchat followers jealous.

The all-season resort offers complimentary water sports, such as kayaking and paddle boating; complimentary kids’ programming; a game room; spa; and delicious buffets. And with meal packages available, White Point Beach Resort can provide families with a nearly all-inclusive Nova Scotia vacation.

And be on the look-out for the famous white bunnies who reside at the oceanfront resort! Rabbit is provided at the front desk.

Room Information

Find the Best Price for Your Stay

White Point Beach Resort offers standard guestrooms, cottages and vacation homes that cater to both couples and families. The accommodations appear somewhat dated, but not enough to deter anyone from a stay here.

Guestrooms are ideal for couples or small families of up to four, with two double beds in White Point Rooms and two queen beds in the slightly larger Lakeside Retreat Guest Rooms. All guestrooms feature patios or decks, large mini-fridges, separate coffee and tea makers, and microwaves. Bathrooms are equipped with shower/tub combos to ease bath time with babies. A word of caution -- the walls are thin and you will hear your neighbors' conversations.

Perfect for families, the resort's cottages have anywhere from one to three bedrooms, plus all the amenities of standard guestrooms. The cottages also have fireplaces and covered decks.

Vacation Homes
The best accommodations at White Point Beach Resort, vacation homes are equipped with everything you need for a true home away from home -- full kitchens, washers and dryers, grills, decks and private lawn space. All of the homes front the ocean (and Tidewatch is the best one).

by Wanda S

We have been going to Tide Watch for 8 years now and we have noticed a significant decline in the overall cleanliness. The bathrooms were dirty, there wasn't enough seating in the main space for a facility that accommodates a large group of people to sit and relax and the sofa you practically are sitting on the floor. So disappointed.

Great Location on the Atlantic Coast

by Susan7

I spent 4 nights in a Lakeside room. The building contained 8 rooms each with an outdoor patio. The room was comfortably furnished and everything was in working order. The view of the lake was peaceful.

The point is surrounded by water on 3 sides — The Atlantic, a tidal estuary and a lake. There are resident bunnies and you are allowed to feed them with food available at reception.

Family Activities

The hotel's wide stretch of beach, though rocky in many areas, is perfect for boogie boarding and sandcastle building. It's especially beautiful for photos at sunset.

Water Sports
Canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats are available to rent free of charge (as are bikes). Surfing lessons and fishing charters can also be arranged through the resort.

The hotel has a small outdoor pool that pales in comparison to the beach. It's also usually filled with sand from the beachgoers. The resort's indoor pool is the better option if you want to go for a swim.

Kids' Zone
The hotel provides a number of organized events for kids -- and they're covered in rates! Activities include beachside bonfires with S'mores, arts and crafts, face painting, milk and cookie story time, and even live entertainment.

Game Room
Especially fun for teens, the game room features billiards, shuffleboard, Ping-Pong and more. It's located next to the Kids' Zone.

Let the kids blow off some steam at the playground after dinner (if they're not already pooped from a day at the beach, that is). The small play area has a few swings and some random play structures.

The hotel has a few tennis courts; visit the front desk for equipment.

Family Dining

Elliott's Dining Room
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in Elliott's Dining Room, located next to the lobby in the resort's main building. The nautical, red and blue furniture and décor sets the tone for casual family meals. And while a la carte options are available, most everyone heads for the buffets.

The dinner buffet features a selection of four entrees (including seafood), plus a gourmet cheese, charcuterie and bread station; several salads; and of course, desserts (which are to die for, by the way). Breakfast includes all the standard favorites, such as French toast and made-to-order omelettes, and for lunch, you can have sandwiches, salads and the like. Kids' menus AND youth menus (for teens), highchairs and boosters are also available, as is a gluten-free menu and beer, wine (the resort has a sommelier) and cocktail menu. Oh, and did we mention most meals come with a view of the ocean?

Summer hours are 8 to 11 a.m. for breakfast, noon to 2 for lunch, and 5 to 9 p.m. for dinner; hours may vary other times of the year. Dinner reservations are a must!

Room Service
A room service menu is available for those who'd like to skip the dining hall and have breakfast or dinner in their PJs instead! Kids' options are included.

Planning & Tips

All About the Extras
Wi-Fi is complimentary, though spotty or slow in most areas. It works best in the lobby and restaurant.

Minimum Stay
For most of the year, it is required that guests stay at the resort a minimum of two nights.

The resort provides a laundry room for washing and drying your wet bathing suits and other clothing. Machines are coin-operated.

Fitness Center
The hotel has a fitness center that's located on the lower level of the main building (but we strongly suggested a workout on the beach instead).

Parking is typically available right outside of all accommodations (or within easy walking distance).

The Art of Smart Timing
Obviously, White Point Beach Resort is busiest in the summertime, when families come to the resort to enjoy the beach and other outdoor activities. But fall is also a nice time to visit with the kids, as the resort is less crowded with school back in session. The resort remains open in the winter, when many couples visit for romantic getaways.

Getting There
The closest airport to White Point Beach Resort is Halifax International Airport, about two hours away. Plan some road trip stops along Highway 101, also known as Harvest Highway. The Annapolis Valley is widely known for its farms, orchards and a growing number of wine vineyards.

Getting Around
If you plan to leave the resort (though you certainly don't have to), you'll definitely need your own vehicle to get around. Nearby points of interest include the town of Liverpool (10 minutes away), the candy-colored buildings of Lunenburg (about an hour's drive), and Kejimkujik National Park (also an hour's drive).

For Mom and Dad
Housed in a seaside shack that's connected to some of the resort's cottages, the Ocean Spa offers relaxing massages from $50, plus facials, body wraps, Reiki treatments and more. Appointments are strongly suggested.

You might also consider golfing at the resort's onsite golf course; ask about golf packages.
