South Street Seaport

Fulton & South Streets, Pier 17, New York City, 10038, NY

The South Street Seaport is one of the most historic areas in all of New York’s Manhattan borough. Extremely popular with tourists and families, the port is home to some of the oldest architecture in all of New York City, and includes a series of renovated sailing ships, mercantile buildings, the Titanic Memorial lighthouse, the nearly 200-year-old Fulton Fish Market, the South Street Seaport Museum and more.

Though much of the port is closed for renovations following the devastation of Hurricane Sandy, it is scheduled to fully re-open in the next year, featuring a complete restoration of the famous Tin Building, a world-class food market, new wooden platforms, enhanced neighborhood connectivity to the water, a mixed-use building and a marina with public access.

Visitors to the South Street Seaport in the winter months are welcome to enjoy the annual ice-skating rink and Christmas tree, along with the myriad of beautiful lights and decorations, and the wonderful views of the East River and Brooklyn Bridge.
